The Tri-City Dust Devils navigated a high-intensity weekend road series at Everett Memorial Stadium, showcasing a resilient offense and flashes of power despite a challenging schedule. Over the three-game stretch, the Dust Devils demonstrated their ability to battle back from deficits and leverage the long ball to keep themselves competitive in the Northwest League.

Friday: A Rally Falls Just Short

Friday night was a game of catch-up for the Dust Devils. After falling into an early 4-0 hole, Tri-City mounted a spirited comeback in the fifth inning. Led by rookie shortstop David Mershon, who tallied a two-run homer and an RBI single, the Dust Devils pulled within a single run. However, the AquaSox responded with insurance home runs in the sixth inning to pull away, ultimately handing the Dust Devils an 8-4 loss despite Tri-City racking up 12 hits on the night.

Saturday: Dust Devils Powering to Victory

Saturday night featured a complete turnaround, with the long ball proving to be the difference-maker. The Dust Devils’ offense came alive in the fourth inning behind a three-run blast from Ryan Nicholson. The power display continued throughout the night, with Jake Munroe and Juan Flores adding solo shots in the later innings to secure a 7-4 win. Solid pitching from starter Francis Texido and a shutdown performance from reliever Benny Thompson ensured the Dust Devils clinched at least a series split.

Looking Ahead

Following the conclusion of their series in Everett, the Dust Devils are set to return to Gesa Stadium. They will enjoy a brief break for the Memorial Day holiday before opening a significant 12-game homestand on Tuesday, May 26, against the Spokane Indians. Fans can catch all the action as the team looks to build momentum heading into the month of June.
