The Tri-City Dust Devils treated fans at Gesa Stadium to a weekend packed with late-inning drama, extra-inning walk-offs, and offensive fireworks in a high-stakes Northwest League clash against the Everett AquaSox. Suiting up under promotional identities as the Columbia River Rooster Tails and Viñeros de Tri-City, the Dust Devils displayed continuous grit in front of enthusiastic home crowds as the Second Half playoff race tightens up.

1. Friday: Burns Rips Walk-Off Winner in Extra Innings

In front of 3,340 fans at Gesa Stadium, Tri-City captured a dramatic 5-4 extra-inning victory over the AquaSox.

  • 💥 10th-Inning Heroics: With pinch-runner Jorge Ruiz at third base in the bottom of the 10th, catcher Peter Burns lined a two-out pitch fair down the right-field line to score Ruiz for the walk-off win.

  • ⚾ Starter Duel: Tri-City righty Peyton Olejnik delivered a solid start, allowing just two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings.

  • 🔒 Tookoian Closes: Reliever Sam Tookoian held Everett scoreless across the 9th and 10th innings to earn his second win of the season.

2. Saturday: Two-Out Rallies & Back-to-Back Homers

Playing as the Columbia River Rooster Tails, Tri-City scored all six of its runs with two outs in a 10-hit offensive display.

  • 💣 Back-to-Back Big Flies: Outfielder Kevyn Castillo smashed a two-run shot over the right-field wall for his first High-A home run in the 6th, immediately followed by a solo home run from DH Ryland Zaborowski.

  • 📊 Multi-Hit Performers: Slate Alford, Hayden Alvarez, Kevyn Castillo, and Ryland Zaborowski each recorded multi-hit games for Tri-City.

  • ⚾ Mound Work: Starter Mason McGwire struck out five batters over four innings, while reliever Kyle Roche was promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake prior to the game.
