The Brewster Rockits are once again Tillage League champions.
With a 7-1 triumph over Kittitas County at Johnson-O’Brien Stadium in Ephrata, the Rockits capped off their 2025 campaign by securing back-to-back titles under the leadership of head coach Joe Taylor.
“You work for this all summer, so why not get out here and win it?” said Taylor. “I had to get these guys fired up, and they responded well. The bats got going, and we got it done.”
Brewster’s offense wasted no time setting the tone, scoring all seven of their runs in the first three innings. Cooper Pinski starred at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, while Remi Paz contributed a 2-for-3 day with an RBI and was hit by a pitch. Damon Alumbaugh delivered consistent contact, finishing 2-for-4, and Mason Mickleson added an RBI, going 1-for-2 with a walk.
“This is my first year with this team and I wanted to win it with them and for them,” said Cooper Pinski after the win. “Just building relationships with these guys from different schools and being able to play ball—it means everything.”
The Rockits showed strong plate discipline throughout the game, manufacturing runs and applying steady pressure to the Kittitas County defense.
Kittitas County struggled to string together offense against Brewster’s pitching. Wyatt Green led the effort with a 1-for-2 performance and two walks. Tobin Deboer also reached base twice, drawing a walk and being hit by a pitch. Cash Gibson displayed patience, earning three walks on the day.
While Kittitas County battled to the final out, it was Brewster’s depth, discipline, and championship experience that once again made the difference.
“It’s hard to beat a team five times in eight days,” said Taylor. “Those guys are well-coached and tough. We just kept our heads in it, one pitch at a time.”
Taylor also reflected on the bigger picture: “To be repeat champs in a league like this is pretty special. It’s awesome that these guys are all from different towns and can come together in the summer and win it. Tillage League is awesome—but right now, we hold the crown.”
