Andrew Tate and the U-1 Miss BWR Racing successfully defended their Seafair title Sunday afternoon, capturing the Apollo Mechanical Cup for the second consecutive year after an exciting battle with Jimmy Shane and the U-27 Miss Apollo. The two championship contenders raced side-by-side for much of the final, thrilling the thousands of fans lining the shores of Lake Washington before Tate pulled away to secure another prestigious Seattle victory.
Tate Outduels Shane & Shatters 20-Year Course Record
In the process, Tate also established a new Seafair final heat course record, averaging 143.423 mph, eclipsing the previous mark of 141.880 mph, set by John Theoret in the Miss Beacon Plumbing in 2006.

Runne & Nilsen Lead Strong Field Behind Top Two
Behind the leaders, Dylan Runne delivered one of the strongest performances of his H1 Unlimited career, bringing the U-40 Bucket List Racing home in third to earn the team’s first podium finish of the 2026 season. Nilsen and his team continued to exceed expectations, showcasing the speed and consistency that have quickly established them as one of the rising contenders on the circuit.
Jeff Bernard completed a strong weekend for Graham Trucking by finishing fifth aboard the U-12 Graham Trucking. Corey Peabody and the U-3 Miss Tahoe, along with J. Michael Kelly and the U-00 Beacon Plumbing presents Maverick, rounded out the field in sixth and seventh, respectively.
